We have now started our household cleaning services. Another area that we will now be able to support our participants who have funding.
No matter how your funding is set up, we can support you in this area.

So very excited to announce that l am one of 3 finalist in the Victorian Educational Awards.
12 months ago, l decided to go back to school and re educate myself on the disability sector and how l can support our staff to deliver services that challenges our thinking and how we can work within legal frameworks to ensure that we are always empowering our participants.
Going back to school has given me the drive to ensure that we deliver services that work within the Department Human Services Guidelines and focus our support delivery on these.
We will find out in August if l will be the state winner for Vocational Awards for Victoria.
If l do win, the award, the award is not really my award, it’s our staff and participants award. Why, because we are all working together to deliver life changes and represent the importance of people living with a disability and how education is such an important part of this process.

Did you know that we only take 4 of our participants on a camp at a time?
This way we can focus more on independent skills and we find that we have more time to help you with your goals and really empowering you to try new things in a supportive smaller environment.
We especially have found that any of our participants with Autism have less meltdown and are engaged in activities as our staff can take the time to engage and facilitate an activity with them that reduces anxiety of too many people around.
Our motto is "Quality" not "Quantity"

I feel its important to know that l have completed this workshop, which l think helps with supporting our participants who need extra support in the community that may have triggers that increase anxiety and increase the risk of behavioural supports required.

I am so excited to announce that l have now successfully completed my Mental Health First Aid Certificate this month.
Mental Health is extremely important to me and this is why l felt that part of my Professional Development l should do this certificate. I also believe that we work in an industry that has a higher rate of Mental Health and l now feel that l can support and identify signs to our participants and extended support networks that they have.

I can now reveal....
That l have been nominated for a Vocational Award with the Department of Education by GEN U.
Totally overwhelmed and cant believe that they have done this, especially when its mentioning my business and focusing on my dreams and visions for disability services in Geelong, Surf Coast and Bellarine Region.
Working in disability is not about working as one company, its about working as a community, and Gen U, have clearly shown the importance of this by nominating me, who has created my own business.
Please take a moment to read a SNIP of my nomination, and how GEN U, has given me more direction and hope than before.
To Gen U, thank you so much for all your support in doing my training, and l am so excited to be sending my new staff member there to start her Traineeship in Cert 4 in Disability with you next week.
Creating partnerships to build a better community in disability
